Running plantronics bluetooth headphones | A Review

running plantronics bluetooth headphones

I recently bought a pair of Bluetooth headphones and they have totally changed my relationship with running.

I know it sounds dramatic, but hear me out.

Like most people, I have been running with wired headphone forever. Sure, they have evolved, but despite the improvements, I could never get them to comfortably sit in my ear.

Add to that the inconvenience of a trailing wire. During a long run, I’d no doubt get my arm or hand caught in the cord. Even with the “run the wire under your shirt trick,” I’d still have problems.

And watch out on the treadmill!

If your phone is resting on the treadmill while you are running and you accidentally hit the wire, it could be disastrous! I know- I’ve had many scares.

But I just figured it was something I had to put up with.

Until that otherwise uneventful day at Costco, when my husband was looking around in the electronics area and saw Plantronics BackBeat Fit Bluetooth headphones!! He loves a good set of headphones and suggested I give these a try.

I was reluctant at first.

They aren’t as cheap as the price I was used to paying for running headphones. These were about $80, and I generally spent about $30.

But to be fair, I’ve spent about $30 three different times over the past few years because nothing fit right! I figured I’d bite the bullet and give these a try.

The difference is truly incredible!

After a long run, my ears used to ache from the earpiece never sitting right. Now I never have that problem.

And of course, the wire issue is a non-factor now. I just connect my headphones to my phone, put my phone in my running waist pack, and off I go. No more fighting with that wire or my earphones along the way.

Plus, I’ve never had an issue with the Bluetooth headphone disconnecting or running out of juice.

I believe it lasts up to eight hours when it’s fully charged. Any long run I go on will never be that long!

You can also make and receive phone calls with these handy little headphones. I’ve talked to my husband while on a run, and other than my heavy breathing, he can hear me perfectly.

I know these are a little pricey, and that running should be a low-cost sport (overall).

I also feel loading up on gadgets just to buy the latest and greatest is pointless. My husband jokes that these runners are “bolters” because they bolt things on all over their bodies.

But if you want to be fundamentally more comfortable on your run so you regularly enjoy it, and thereby run more, this gadget is a worthy investment!

Go out and try these Bluetooth headphones, and let me know if your experience is the same as mine.
