Dine Downtown

Dine downtown sacramento

It’s Dine Downtown time, Sacramento!

For those who haven’t heard of Dine Downtown, let me fill you in on what you’ve been missing.

Every January, Sacramento’s top restaurants put together amazing three-course menus. The food is amazing and the price is too good to be true. Only $35 per person!

We are in the thick of Dine Downtown right now.

It kicked off January 12 and will wrap up on Sunday, January 22.

That means you have six more days to eat your way through Sacramento’s top dining experiences!

And you’re not only doing a great thing for your taste buds by enjoying these wonderful restaurants, you’re also doing a little something for the community.

One dollar from every Dine Downtown meal is donated to social services and food literacy programs. So you can feel full, and feel good, all at the same time!

And you have plenty of options this year.

Dine Downtown

Thirty-five restaurants in both downtown and midtown are participating. So, time to start plotting out your next few meals. Fortunately, the restaurants make it easy. Almost all post their Dine Downtown menus online.

So far over the weekend, I hit up two Sacramento classics- Rio City and Frank Fat’s. Both places were amazing!

And I was extra lucky this year, because I got a sneak peak of Dine Downtown last week, thanks to the wonderful people at the Downtown Sacramento Partnership.

sacramento food bloggers

They invite some of Sacramento’s top food bloggers to check out this year’s offerings.

We sampled options from Cafeteria 15L, Capitol Garage, and Mayahuel. The food was amazing and the experience was a blast, thanks to the awesome ladies from Local Roots Food Tours.

Side note: I am definitely hitting up one of their tours in the next month, and of course I’ll do a complete recap on the blog. They take you on a historical tour of Sac with tons of tasting along the way. I’m so excited!

Of course, Girls on the Grid has you covered, thanks to great write up by Laine Himmelmann.

Also definitely check out The Mils Edition’s super entertaining Snapchat recap, the beautiful video by Discover Sacramento, and Suha Musallam’s blog post with amazing photos that will get your mouth watering.

So, what’s next up on my Dine Downtown agenda?

My birthday is on Thursday, so I’m taking my family and close friends to a Sacramento classic- The Firehouse.

We also have reservations to cap off my birthday weekend on Sunday evening at The Melting Pot. And no doubt I’ll add one or two more stops along the way.

When it’s Dine Downtown time, I leave the cooking to the professionals!

I believe life is meant to be enjoyed and our frame of mind determines how much we allow ourselves to experience the beauty each day has to offer. Almost five years ago, I was depressed, physically weak and spiritually broken. Now I feel all the blessings of a healthy life and a grateful attitude. From positive vibes to simple pleasures- I'm sharing my thoughts on all the little things that make life truly amazing.

  1. This is my first time stopping by your blog and I’m very pleased with what I’ve seen. Thanks for linking to Suha’s blog as well. Her pics were amazing! So much talent in Sacramento. We all need to collaborate more often. There’s enough projects and money for all of us to bask in the glory.
