City Kitchen Sacramento

Last week I had the wonderful opportunity to try out City Kitchen Sacramento. This local business delivers amazing and super healthy meals to your house.

Because you know how it goes.

You look at your calendar for the week and there is definitely that one night(s) you aren’t going to be able to cook dinner because (INSERT HERE)… late meeting, kid’s activity, workout. You name it.

Many people promise themselves they will make a healthy meal when they get home.

But during the drive back to the house you just know a stop at In and Out Burger is way more likely than grilling up a chicken breast and chopping up some veggies.

If you’ve found yourself in this scenario more than once, City Kitchen Sacramento is for you.

The way it works is simple.

On their website they list the dinners they have for the work week. Monday might be Garlic Miso Glazed Salmon with Bok Choy & Carrots. Tuesday could be Cuban Arroz con Pollo with a Crispy Bibb Lettuce Salad, and so on through Thursday’s dinner.

Once you decide what meal you want, just order it online.

You can order for the week, any day of the week, or even for that evening. Just don’t cut it too close. They do sell out, so to be safe, place your order before 3:00 pm the day of.

Meals can be made for two, four, or six people (larger meals by request). A dinner for two is $35 and that includes tax and delivery. Not bad considering these meals would easily be $20-25 a person at a restaurant. And that’s before any drinks, tax, and tip.

Then between 5:30 to 6:30 pm they deliver your meal. If you’re like me and you won’t be home when they stop by, just let them know and they will leave the meal at your doorstep.

Know that you won’t be able to make your lunch for tomorrow either?

They can deliver your lunch when they bring your dinner. Lunches change daily, but they are always a salad priced at $12.00 and made of healthy greens, grilled or raw veggies, whole grains, seeds, nuts and some dairy, tossed in house-made vinaigrette.

And no matter what the meal, you know it’s going to be yummy and healthy.

The owner and chef, Rebecca Lujan Loveless, only uses the freshest ingredients. Whenever possible her products are organic and from local farms.

And I can personally attest to the healthy goodness that arrives at your door.

My husband and I tried the Caribbean Garlic Lime Slow Roasted Pork & Organic Lemony Asparagus. It also came with a side of homemade potato salad that my husband couldn’t share because he said it was so good. And we both loved the taste and convenience!

We will definitely be placing many more orders with City Kitchen Sacramento in the near future!

Just a note, while there are no hidden fees or delivery charges, they are limited to where they can deliver in the Sacramento area. Right now they deliver to Midtown, West Sacramento, Land Park and Oak Park.

But considering how amazing my meal was, I’m sure Chef Lujan Loveless will be expanding in the very near future!

Here’s to a yummy and healthy option that makes eating well just too easy!

From positive vibes to simple pleasures- I'm sharing my thoughts on all the little things that make life truly amazing.
