Benefits of Ginger

The benefits of ginger have been well-documented. It can reduce inflammation, improve brain function, and even has cancer-fighting properties.

Considering all of this, it’s no surprise ginger is considered one of the most highly-touted superfoods.

But how do you get this superfood into your body on a more frequent basis? For many of us, it’s by buying ginger root and trying to sneak it into our diet in any way possible. And while it may taste great, it’s not super easy to do.

For me, I was peeling the root, chopping it up into small pieces, and then relying on the power of my Vitamix to blend it seamlessly into my smoothie.

Until now.

I recently stumbled on The Ginger People. This company specializes in harnessing the power of ginger in many yummy ways.

Since finding them, I’ve tried out a several of the products, and here are a few of my favs:


Ginger Syrup

Yep! You read it right. Ginger Syrup. It’s so yummy. Nice and sweet. And only about 45 calories per tablespoon.

I add it nightly to my ginger and turmeric tea. Plus it’s perfect on pancakes or waffles. My tip- make a batch of banana pancakes, add some of this syrup, and weekend brunch is served!


Ginger Cooking Sauce

Their cooking sauces are crazy versatile and have a light ginger taste, so they aren’t overpowering at all. There are a few different varieties including some spicy selections and a ginger peanut sauce that I can’t wait to try.

So far, I’ve marinated salmon in the Ginger Sesame Sauce for a few hours and grilled it up. It’s the perfect compliment to the fish. I’ve also added it in a pan as I’m cooking shrimp on the stove top. It makes the shrimp super flavorful and the whole meal is done in under 10 minutes.

And of course, it’s perfect for stir-fry. Straight veggies, tofu, or chicken. They all taste amazing with a splash of the sauce.


Gin Gins

And you know I have to include candy! So Gin Gins are a chewy candy that is a little spicy and a little sweet. They are only 45 calories for two. And they are more than a candy because they can actually settle your stomach if you are feeling off.

These are especially great for runners who feel nauseous during a run. They are easy to take with you and eat as needed.
